This week’s look is our attempt at dressing for those days when it’s not that cold but it’s still kinda cold. As the old saying goes, “wear a down vest with a rugby and you’ll be pretty comfortable.” Or something like that. Anyways, up top we’ve got the Goldwin Light Air Down Vest, quite possibly the warmest and lightest midlayer we’ve ever had the privilege of wearing. It’s made from Pertex Quantum ripstop, stuffed with Kodenshi Down, and even comes with a stuff sack (it packs down to the size of a water bottle!). Underneath is the color block Rugby Polo from Reception, a sophisticated and fun shirt that just so happens to have two different coloured sleeves! We’ve come to expect this from Reception: curveballs that always hit.Moving down, we have the Schnayderman’s Pop Pants in black moleskin twill. We seriously respect Schnayderman’s fabric choices, but this moleskin twill is exceptional even by their standards. It’s incredibly soft, warm, and sturdy, exactly the kind of fabric you want in a winter trouser. The cut of the Pop Pants is tremendous as well, pairing perfectly with the slim lines of Kleman’s Dalior 2 Loafer. The bottom half of this look is proof that slightly dressy items can still be comfy and casual enough to wear every day.
