About Wallace Mercantile

Wallace Mercantile opened on Main Street in 2017 with a simple idea: one shop in Vancouver where the menswear we actually wanted to wear was in one place, sold by people who love these labels and want trying them on to feel easy rather than intimidating.

The labels we carry are mostly small and mostly far away — Seoul, Tokyo, Nagoya, Copenhagen, Lisbon, Munich, London. We choose them for how they're made and how they wear, not for how loudly they announce themselves. Most cut a relaxed, considered line; most use natural fabrics that improve with age. A good deal of what's on the rails here isn't sold anywhere else in Canada.

The shop is still independent and still small. We buy each season ourselves, and we work hard to make shopping with us online as easy as it should be — but we'd love you to see the store in person and meet the people behind it.
