The Cotton Linen Denim Riviera Trousers by Kaptain Sunshine are crafted from 9oz selvedge denim spun with natural neps and dyed in pure indigo. The weft yarn is blended with linen, and the fabric’s weave and dye process were developed through analysis of 1940s deadstock denim. Woven slowly at low tension on vintage looms, the material has a subtle uneven texture that softens and evolves with repeated washing. Cut in a relaxed fit with double pleats, they’re finished with flap pockets and a matching removable belt. Made in Japan.

The Americana revival movement is everywhere at the minute, but few are as adept at making it their own as Kaptain Sunshine. Led by Shinsuke Kojima, a former publisher and long-time appreciator of archival clothing, the fairly young brand breathes new life into time-honoured styles through carefully-selected, predominantly natural materials and easy tailoring that often echoes 80s casual wear and mid-90s skateboarding attire. Though it's easy to recognize the origins of each piece, Kaptain Sunshine has an idiosyncratic design language with a universal appeal that seamlessly bridges the gap between past & present.
