Our Second Season Aboard the Nanamica Japan Collection!
Eiichiro Homma and the gang are up to their old tricks, crafting a godly collection of menswear full of hidden technical surprises. The designs are classic, the fabrics are high tech, and the proportions are big and billowy in a very tasteful, very Japanese sort of way. Let’s get right into it!
What's Included in the 2021 Nanamica Japan Collection
Our SS21 selection from Nanamica has a distinct mid-century vibe, seen in pieces like the Loopwheel COOLMAX Jersey Tee, Button Down H/S Wind Shirt, and Wide Chino Pants. At first glance, they’re beautiful but unassuming, halfway between ‘50s college student and off-duty serviceman. However, their fabrics are cutting edge, whether it’s moisture-wicking COOLMAX, wind-resistant CORDURA, or quick-dry chino cloth.
The ultimate example of this Nanamican technical trickery is the GORE-TEX Soutien Collar Coat. It looks like a cotton mac coat, it feels like a cotton mac coat, it IS a cotton mac coat, but it’s also got (*George Costanza voice*) freakin’ GORE-TEX. Leave it to Nanamica to transform the most classical of raincoats into an awesome display of fabric technology.
Anyways, wrapping up the garment side of things are the Club Jacket and Club Pant in “tropical wool”. This two piece suit is relaxed and unstructured, giving it a ton of styling versatility. The main attraction here is the tropical wool fabric, a wool/polyester blend which looks like worsted wool but breathes like cotton. It’s the epitome of warm weather suiting (shoutout summer weddings).
Rounding out our collection are the accessories, namely the Nanamican Tech Belt, GORE-TEX Cap, and two drop-dead gorgeous bags: the Water Repellent Helmet Bag and Water Repellent Tote Bag. Both bags are constructed from water-repellent cotton and handmade in Japan at the Porter-Yoshida factory, so believe you me, these are quite possibly the nicest bags we’ve ever carried in the shop.

About the Nanamica Japan Brand
It’s our second season aboard the Nanamica express and we’re going full steam ahead baby! We’ve got summery tops like the COOLMAX Jersey Tees and the Button Down H/S Wind Shirt, summer trousers in the Wide Chino Pants, and even an unstructured “tropical wool” suit in the Club Jacket and Club Pants. The lynchpin of the collection is Nanamica’s legendary GORE-TEX Soutien Collar Coat, a deceptively technical classic. On the accessories side there are GORE-TEX Caps, Tech Belts, and of course the Water Repellent Helmet Bag and Tote Bag, both handmade in Japan at the Porter-Yoshida factory.
